About Me

binxybaby.jpeg

Growing up in rural South Texas and home based here majority of the year, I’m proud to be a first-generation Smith college graduate with a nonlinear career path, unapologetically building a life of joyful purpose as a childfree-by-choice Latina. When I’m not freelancing or inspiring people to be everyday conservationists off their yoga mat, I can be found hanging with family, walking my Boston Terrier, experimenting in the kitchen and plotting travel adventures to hiking spots near my husband’s soccer stadium bucket list.

My yoga journey started in 2008 when a therapist recommended it to feel in my body and get out of my head as a sexual trauma survivor. Since then I’ve leaned on it to manage anxiety, depression, and stressors from daily living as a freelance digital nomad. As a social worker with Dallas CASA, yoga helped me create balance and cultivate compassion not only for myself but the families I strived to empower with the skills needed to provide a safe environment for abused children. Children and adolescents in crisis would begin to calm when I coached them through breathing techniques I’d learned in yoga classes, thus sparking my interest in teaching. I am passionate about making yoga and the outdoors accessible to all because I believe both are powerful experiences to build a stronger mind, body, and spirit of resilience to meet life’s challenges. One breath. One step at a time.

In 2017 I obtained my 200-HR Yoga Teacher certification and began facilitating opportunities for people to connect to themselves and the great outdoors. It’s brought me joy and sense of purpose leading hundreds of yogis on guided yoga hikes across Arizona, Connecticut, Costa Rica, New England, Spain, and Texas. Off the trail, I teach yoga in community parks, corporate team retreats, studios, and private yoga sessions for groups celebrating milestones like bachelorette or birthdays. Curating my own social media content on Instagram, Facebook and learning Google Ad marketing strategies to promote these free and donation-based yoga experiences pushed me out of my comfort zone. Slowly I mastered the skills to build my own website and discover an affinity for Digital Marketing to use my creativity for social good. I enjoy geeking out researching things I don’t know in the constantly evolving space of Digital Marketing, helping businesses grow whose passions align with mine:
healthy pets, ecotourism, sustainable living, wellness and wildlife conservation.
